Take a human a sentence. Not a spiral.

These are scripts you can steal. They do not diagnose. They stop the freeze in the car park.

GP / clinician

Being believed in ten minutes

  • “I’m in my midlife years and these changes are wrecking sleep / work / sex. I’d like a menopause-informed look, not a ‘you’re fine’.”
  • “My periods stopped / went chaotic / I had surgery. I need to know what type of menopause we’re talking about.”
  • “I have a list: bleeding pattern, sleep, mood, heat, sex pain, family heart/bone history. Can we go through it?”
  • “I’m not asking this website to treat me. I’m asking you what options exist, including doing nothing, lifestyle, and medical.”

Bring: timeline, medicines, and red flags. If it’s post-menopausal bleeding, say that first.

Partner

Useful, not a project manager

  • “This isn’t about you, and I still need you in the room.”
  • “When I go quiet / rage / peel a jumper, try water and a window before a pep talk.”
  • “Sex might need lubricant, time, or a pause. I’ll say which. Please don’t make it a referendum on us.”
  • “I don’t need you to Google HRT at 1am. I need you to come to the appointment if I ask.”

Manager

Material, specific, small

  • “I need a desk fan / a uniform layer / a room that isn’t a greenhouse.”
  • “I’m having a stretch of broken sleep. Can we talk about start times for four weeks?”
  • “This is a health-and-work conversation, not a performance one.”
  • “If the organisation wants a real plan, HR can look at Midlife @ Work. I’m not the training budget.”

Sex / pelvic

Pain is not “low libido”

  • “Sex hurts / I am dry / I need lubricant to be ordinary, not a referendum.”
  • “I want GSM named. I want options including doing nothing and including medical.”
  • “Please don’t tell me I should be past wanting this.”
Surgical / POI

The calendar does not apply

  • “This was surgery / chemo / under 40. I need premature or surgical menopause in the notes, not ‘too young’.”
  • “I want bone and heart in the conversation.”
  • “Yoga is not the plan. I want a menopause-informed look.”
Carer / adult child

Useful, not a manager

  • “I can come to the appointment and sit in the waiting room unless you want me in.”
  • “Tell me if you want a fan, a lift, or quiet — not a TED talk.”
  • “I will not Google HRT at 1am at you.”
